Jumbled House

Jumbled House is nestled high on a hill with stunning views across the valley towards the country town of Orange, NSW. The intention was for the home to insert seamlessly into the surrounding landscape, nestling into the contours of the existing hilled areas. Its orientation is strategic, ensuring it maximises existing views through to the large water body and iconic mountain beyond whilst maximising northern light and natural ventilation.

Its layout has been designed to ensure a different aspect of the surrounding landscape was captured at every point within the home. Whilst the external form is intentionally minimal with sharp clean lines and an enveloping perimeter wall, the interior, in contrast, harnesses organic forms and the material selection provided a soft, textural and earthy experience which further celebrates and reflects the surrounding rural landscape. When it came to material selections the owners had specified Rockcote on numerous projects and appreciated both its aesthetic and integral qualities as well as its reliability.
