The No.4 O’Brien project captures a relaxed yet refined coastal aesthetic, where materiality plays a key role in achieving a soft, contemporary finish. Designed by BGD Architecture, the home balances clean modern lines with subtle texture and warmth.
A defining feature of the exterior is the use of Rockcote Sandcote, delivering a finely textured, sand-like finish that responds beautifully to natural coastal light. Its subtle sparkle and tonal variation give the façade depth without compromising the project’s restrained architectural language.
Applied with precision, Sandcote enhances the building’s form by softening hard edges and creating a consistent, durable surface suited to coastal conditions. The result is a finish that feels natural, low-maintenance, and cohesive with its surroundings.
The project was delivered by Icon Projects, with design collaboration from Tameka Moffat Design and South Coast Building Design. Photography by The Palm Co captures the understated elegance of the completed home, highlighting how Sandcote quietly elevates the overall composition.
