Built as a young family’s holiday retreat, the homes coastal design is based around a series of stacked pavilions which invite you to move through the space as you feel the volumes expand and contract. The surrounding landscape and lush tropical gardens are captured in every framed window and double height voids and detailed ceilings draw your eye upwards and allow for a moment of contemplation before moving through to the expansive rear pavilion. Sliding doors and wide heavy walls double up as playful window seats to create a family friendly uninterrupted flow between inside and out. Generously designed and impeccably finished, Woorak House balances strength with softness and curves with clean lines. When it came to material selections CM Studio had specified Rockcote on numerous projects and appreciated both its artisan qualities as well as its reliability. A layered natural palette of materials of stone, timber and brass meant that Rockcote Finecote and Marrakesh were the perfect choice to compliment the calm and casual space. Rockcote Finecote was used externally on walls and to create the curved outdoor shower. Internally Rockcote Marrakesh was expertly applied to create the monolithic fireplace, curved master bedhead and the stunning curved staircase that invites touch and contemplation.
