Both Rockcote Armour and Rockcote Armour Flex elastomeric membranes products are defined as ‘water repellent’ and weatherproof rather than ‘waterproof’ as they are not suitable for construction areas that are immersed in water for prolonged periods time (e.g. tanking situations, wet areas, planter boxes, swimming pools or fishponds and the like).
In line with normal facade cladding topcoats, both Rockcote Armour and Rockcote Armour Flex have intrinsic water repellent characteristics, providing excellent weatherproofing properties which are warranted against failure if applied and used as specified. Liquid water in the form of rain and wind-driven rain will not penetrate through the outer surface of continuous and cured films of Rockcote Armour or Rockcote Armour Flex if applied in accordance with Rockcote Technical Specifications and film builds.
Rockcote Armour and Rockcote Armour Flex provide a water repellent membrane, yet remain vapour permeable when applied over dimensionally stable substrates when applied in accordance with Rockcote Technical Specifications. i.e. continuous films of Rockcote Armour and Rockcote Armour Flex will prevent entry of incident rain and wind-driven rain but will allow the escape of water vapour that may find the substrate or underlying coatings by other points ingress.
